Brooke Wright has only two goals her senior year at Charity Run High School: stay out of trouble and learn to forgive herself for the past. Forgiveness proves elusive, and trouble finds her anyway when she discovers a secret club at school connected to the death of her best friend. She learns that swim team members participate in a “Fantasy Slut League,” scoring points for their sexual acts with unsuspecting girls.
Brooke, wracked with guilt over her friend’s death, decides to infiltrate the league by becoming one of the “unsuspecting girls,” and exact revenge on the boys who stole away her best friend. An unexpected romance complicates her plans, and her dogged pursuit of justice turns her reckless as she underestimates just how far the boys will go to keep their sex club a secret.
(This is a New Adult fiction book with mature themes. It contains graphic sex and language and a description of sexual violence.)

Lori's Thoughts:
Brooke isn't a role model. She's made mistakes. Mistakes that haunt her and fill her with guilt. They drive her to make even more mistakes. She's on a path for redemption. Little does she know that the forgiveness she seeks lies inside of herself.

This is a haunting story. I can see why Brooke feels like she's going under. Her best friend Beth has taken her own life. Brooke knows why she did it, but that doesn't stop her from feeling guilty. She did sleep with Beth's boyfriend. Yep, Brooke is a good ole homewrecker.
I don't like Brooke. Hell, in the beginning of the book I didn't even respect her. But by the end of it I was rooting for her. Her guts are spilled all over these pages. Literally, S. Walden took her pen and just splayed this character wide open. Her weaknesses are open for us to see. We get to see her fuck up, we get to see her win, we get to see her torn down to the lowest of low.
This is another NA book that deals with the topic of rape. It's great. I love these brave ladies that are putting out these stories for young girls to read. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Every person that stands up and says THIS IS WRONG, is one more person making it so I don't have to walk home at night with my head down, and keys within in reach incase I get attacked.
The love story is great. It's realistic, in that Brooke has to heal from her pain and wounds both physically and mentally before she can go into that place in her life.

The writing was amazing. I was instantly drawn in. Even if the characters are not people I found myself liking, I did find myself enjoying the story. It was moving, and hard to read. It was a fast read too. The author handled delicate subjects with grace.

The plot resembles most NA/love stories. But what love story doesn't? Two (or three or more) meet and fall in love. There are only so many ways that can be written. S. Walden writes a great love story. One that I wanted to see a HEA* for.

Overall, It was a beautiful. breathtaking, throat clenching story. I highly recommend it for people who want a bit more from their romance.
